Home Depot issued a recall of about 107,000 of its Soleil portable fan heaters.  According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, “The portable fans plastic housing can melt, deform and catch fire during use, posing a fire hazard.”

Injuries and Incidents To Date:

  • There have been 464 reports of the fans melting
  • There have been no reports of injuries or property damage

Refund:

If you or a loved one has purchased the recalled portable fan heaters, you should immediately stop using the recalled fan heaters.  Furthermore, you should return them to Home Depot for a full refund.
