FootballWhen my boyfriend asked me to attend an NFL game with him this upcoming season I was pretty excited.  I liked the thought of going to watch his favorite team play.  I wanted to surprise him with his favorite team's sweater while we were at the game too.  However, after reading a recent article about NFL’s new rule change, I don’t think my plan can be properly executed anymore.

According to Yahoo News, starting this preseason, the National Football League (NFL) will not allow women to “carry standard-size purses into games.”  They will only be permitted to carry a small clutch that does not exceed the size of a person’s hand.  If a bag must be carried in, it must apparently be “made of a clear material, such as plastic, and must not be larger than 12 x 6 x 12.”

I am not a fan of this new rule change at all.  I don’t like the thought of the person sitting next to me seeing all my personal belongings.

Other Items on NFL's Banned List:

  • Camera bags
  • Fanny packs
  • Backpacks
  • Coolers
  • Luggage

According to NFL officials, these new rules are only  "a minor inconvenience." They believe that the new rules will be helpful in terms of safety and security.

What are your thoughts about these new NFL rules?
