I want to inform the readers of this blog of a new voluntary recall due to possible salmonella contamination.
Several Eco-Cuisine Products Recalled
On May 20, 2013, Eco-Cuisine of Boulder, Colorado issued a recall of all lots of their mix products due to possible salmonella contamination of their products. According to the FDA, “The recall was as the result of notification by CHS Foods that ingredients used in the aforementioned products were being recalled for Salmonella.“

- Basic Brownie Mix
- Betty Brownie Mix with Vanilla
- Ground Beef Style Quick Mix
- Sausage Style Quick Mix
- Chocolate Cookie Mix
- Lemon Muffin Mix
- English Scone Mix
- Basic Cookie Mix
- Basic Muffin Mix
- Basic Scone Mix
- Container: Bags or Boxes depending on the product

Risk of Salmonella to Humans:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
- Abdominal pain
- Fever
- Arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms)
- Endocarditis
- Arthritis
- Serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems
If you or a loved one experiences any of these symptoms after having contact with a product with the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, please contact your healthcare provider immediately.

There have been no reported illnesses to date.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled Eco-Cuisine products are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
