Toyota Motor Corp has announced a recall of over 681,000 vehicles. The good news is that Toyota has indicated that this recall is preemptive and the company is not aware of anyone injured or any accidents occurring due to the recalled items.

Around 495,000 Tacoma pickup trucks, model years 2005-2009, to replace a part in the steering wheel. The steering wheel spiral cable assembly needs to be replaced due to the chance that the driver’s side air bag being deactivated because of friction.Latest Toyotal Recall

Additionally, there are approximately 70,500 Camry cars and 116,000 Venza crossover vehicles, model years 2009-2011, being recalled to replace a stop lamp switch. There was silicon grease used during assembly that could potentially cause the vehicle to not start or the shift lever may not move from the “park” position.

Toyota indicates that the recalls are to fix they issues that that they will take about 30 minutes each.

Note: Owners of Tacomas should hear from Toyota in April and Camry and Venza owners will be notified once the replacement parts are available.
