In the latest development in the ongoing battle over medical marijuana, the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear the government's challenges to California's medical marijuana laws.  The case has been in the courts for years and revolved, this time, around the issue of whether or not the police had to return some confiscated medical marijuana that was determined to be legally possessed.  The police didn't want to return the marijuana, claiming that by doing so they'd be in violation of federal laws which criminalize it.  The little guy kept winning, but the government kept appealing all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.   It's like watching Who Wants to Be a Millionaire... all the lifelines have been used, all the phone-a-friends have been exhausted.  Supreme Court's final answer?  Medical Marijuana - you WIN!
