Whole Foods Market’s Circle Sea Salmon Lox Trim
On January 30, 2013 Whole Foods Market, Inc. issued a voluntary recall of four items made with Circle Sea Salmon Lox Trim due to the possibility that the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. According to the FDA, Listeria monocytogenes is an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Short-Term Symptoms Associated with Listeria monocytogenes:
- High fever
- Severe headache
- Stiffness
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Listeria infection may cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women
