Certain pet treats have recently been recalled from Petsmart stores due to the possibility of mold in the products. Claudia’s Canine Cuisine is voluntarily recalling it’s Dogcandy brand of Holiday Hound Cake and Blueberry Hound Cake due to the possibility of mold. According to the FDA, the recalled bags of the hound cake have the potential to become moldy because the cakes contained higher moisture content due to the product being packaged while still warm. These cakes were sold in approximately 130 Petsmart stores in 36 states.

Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

There have been no reported illnesses to date.
Refund:
Consumers who have purchased the recalled cakes are entitled to a full refund. All they must do is return the product to the nearest PetSmart store or send the product to the following address:

Consumers must indicate whether they want a refund or a replacement product. All shipping fees will also be reimbursed.
