Recalled items affecting children are always a huge concern for parents. Therefore, I want to inform the readers of this blog of 2 recent recalls relating to defective products that may harm your children.
1) Classic Wood Highchairs
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Graco Children's Products Inc. has voluntarily recalled Classic Wood Highchairs. Apparently, the highchair’s seat can loosen or detach from the base. This may cause a child to fall off the highchair. To date, there have been 58 reports of the highchair's seats loosening or detaching from the base, and 9 reports of children falling because of the detached seat. Injuries include bumps, bruises, scratches and one report of a concussion. These highchairs were sold at Babies R Us, Burlington Coat Factory and other retail stores nationwide. They were also sold at online retail shops, including Target.com and Walmart.com from September 2007 through December 2010 for about $130.
If you have purchased this highchair for your child, immediately stop using it and contact Graco at (800) 345-4109 for a free repair kit. To see a picture of the recalled highchair, click here.
2) Fleece Hoodie and T-Shirt Sets
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Children's Apparel Network has recalled fleece hoodie and t-shirt sets. Evidently, the zipper of the fleece hoodie and t-shirt sets contains high levels of lead. This is in violation of the federal lead paint standard. These sets were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and at Target.com from October 2011 through December 2011 for around $18.
If you have purchased this product for your child, immediately return it to any Target store for a full refund. For additional information, contact Children's Apparel Network at (800) 919-1917. To see a picture of the recalled fleece hoodie and t-shirt sets, click here.
