In line with the recent news of Salmonella outbreaks from across the country, I wanted to inform the readers of this blog that the outbreak has also reached dog food. Breeder’s Choice Pet Food is recalling a batch of their Natural Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Dog Formula due to possible Salmonella contamination. According to the FDA, the recalled batch of the dog formula had a positive result for salmonella.

- Best Before Dates: Aug 28, 2013/ Aug 29, 2013/ Aug 30, 2013

Risk to Humans:
Some symptoms to look for after handling this product include:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
- Abdominal cramping
- Fever

Risk to Pets:
Pets with Salmonella infections may have the following symptoms:
- Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Lazy
- Decreased appetite
- Abdominal pain

There have been no reported human or pet illnesses.
Refund:
Consumers who have purchased the recalled dog formula are entitled to a full refund. All they must do is call AvoDerm Consumer Care at 1-866-500-6286. The Consumer Care team will provide consumers with a Recall Return Response Form that must be filled out. Consumers must then mail the completed form along with a receipt for the product to the following address:
