In Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, there is a Halloween Law detailing what citizens may and may not do to celebrate the holiday. For example, “no person shall permit his child or any child under his control to go about the streets, ways and/or sidewalks within the corporate limits of the City of Rehoboth Beach for the purpose of causing mischief of any sort…”

Children under 14, however, may engage in what we would commonly agree to refer to as “Trick or Treating,” but only from 6-8 p.m., and if October 31 is a Sunday, then they must Trick or Treat Saturday October 30.

Don’t worry if you have further plans though, because: “nothing in this section shall be deemed to prohibit the gathering and participation of children in a Halloween parade or costume contest sponsored by the Rehoboth Beach Chamber of Commerce or the service clubs of the city.”

Thus, if you are over 14, want to Trick or Treat past 8 p.m. planning on engaging in any mischief, or hoping to have a Halloween parade or costume contest not sponsored by the city, you could face fines of up to $150.
