Testicular Cancer Survivor Can Sue Prior Employer for Harassment

The court failed to dismiss the case brought by a man who worked in construction sued his employer due to harassment and comments which caused him distress, such as “uni-ball,” and “cut throat,” referring to a visible scar and information relating to surgeries he had as a cancer survivor. The employer failed to punish or otherwise prevent his co-workers from making snide comments about his post-cancer physique.

Co-workers Test Woman’s Peanut Allergy

A woman with a peanut allergy claims her employer failed to discipline, or otherwise prevent her co-workers from taunting her by “trying to place peanuts on her” and “touch(ing) her arm and leg with peanuts” to assess whether she was “faking,” or otherwise fabricating her allergy.

Execs who Fled From Groupon to Google

Executives who left Groupon.com to work for Google, which has its own version of so called group coupons, called “daily deals,” are being sued for revealing confidential business information. The suit claims,  ”The defendants’ disclosure of Groupon’s confidential information relating to how it structures and prices deals with merchants will permit Google Offers to immediately compete against Groupon with the benefit of knowing Groupon’s sales and marketing strategies.” Groupon claims the execs have breeched their contract, which bars employment with direct competitors for 2 years.
