Lindsay Lohan is now in custody.  Judge Elden Fox denied Lindsay Lohan bail and she will be forced to stay in prison until October 22, 2010.  The reason for her incarceration?  Two failed court-mandated drug tests, one of which she tested positive for cocaine after she was arressted for a DUI.

Is This Normal?

Not really.  Many times an offender on a misdemeanor will be allowed to “bail out” of jail.  What this means is that, so long as the person can meet the bail amount, they will be released.  Bail is used in order to make sure a person will show up to court.  If they do not come to court, then the bail is forfeited.
