By:  LINDSEY O’NEILL, ESQ.

A new improved version of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) poster, which reflects the recently published final rule, is now available.  Every employer covered by the FMLA is required to post and keep posted on its premises, in conspicuous places where employees are employed, a notice explaining the Act’s provisions.

As many of you know by now, the FMLA requires covered employers to provide up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave to eligible employees for certain medical and family reasons, including:
• Incapacity due to pregnancy, prenatal medical care or child birth;
• To care for the employee’s child after birth, or placement for adoption or foster care;
• To care for the employee’s spouse, son or daughter, or parent, who has a serious health condition; or
• For a serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform the employee’s job.

Find the new FMLA poster here.
