The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Office of Citizenship, is featuring a recent publication on its website for new immigrants.  The guide, “Welcome to the United States: A Guide for New Immigrants, Washington, DC, 2007, Revised Edition,”  is intended for new permanent residents of the U.S. and offers a wealth of information about getting settled in the U.S., and provides valuable information about immigrants legal rights and responsibilities of new residents.  The welcome guide also provides information about education, courts and governments, and how to get emergency help. 

For new immigrants, this guide will help you get started in your new life as an American reident.  It also summarizes important information about agencies and organizations that provide documents or essential services.  While the guide is very comprehensive, it is just a start.  For more information about becoming a citizen, or to discuss your legal rights in more detail, contact an immigration attorney today.

    May I know how a new immigrant,whose green card has been approved, can obtain Health care, his age being 74 at the time of entry into U.S.

    May I know how a new immigrant who has obtained
    Permanent Resident Card, Social Security,
    Indiana State Identity Card, who is currently more
    74 years of age, can get unrestricted medicaid
    as applicable to US Citizens or some what diluted
    facilities.
