Happy Father’s Day to all those fathers, fathers-in-law, step-fathers, father figures… and all around great family men out there! Every daughter knows what a true gift it is to have a great relationship with her father! And John Mayer sings it – Father’s be good to your daughters…. So here is a BIG THANK YOU to all the fathers out there making the tough choices, sacrificing the things to be sacrificed, and truly enjoying the life of a great father!
Whether a man is married or not, fathers have an equal right to share in their child’s lives. There are many common misconceptions about fathers’ rights including issues related to: (i) establishing paternity when the parents are not married at the child’s birth; (ii) names on a birth certificate; (iii) rights to shared physical and legal custody; (iv) visitation and shared parenting plans; (v) child support; and (vi) termination or relinquishment of parental rights.
