U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services sent a reminder to applicants of its e-filing option for an I-90 Application to Replace a Permanent Resident Card commonly known as a “Green Card.”

Applicants who wish to file the I-90 Application with USCIS may do so online at www.uscis.gov. A link to the e-Filing homepage is located under the Hot Topics heading. Using e-Filing, applicants may submit their I-90 applications in a quick, hassle-free, secure way. I-90 applicants who use e-Filing will benefit in a variety of ways:

• e-Filing is a free service and does not charge any additional processing fee(s) for electronic payment to its users.

• e-Filing provides step-by-step directions and reminders to help reduce errors and time spent filling out applications.

• e-Filing allows its users to electronically pay application fees using either their personal checking/savings account or credit card/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are accepted).

• e-Filing allows its users to save partially completed application(s) in their portfolio for completion at a more convenient time.

• e-Filing provides an immediate Confirmation Receipt notice upon successful submission of the application. The Confirmation Receipt notice provides the application Receipt Number, a receipt of payment, and next step instructions. Applicants who elect to use e-Filing to submit their I-90 applications should note the following:

• Be sure to read the e-Filing Reference Guide and Instructions for E-Filed Form I-90 before
submitting the application.

• Be sure to read the Avoiding Common e-Filing Mistakes to ensure your application(s) is processed correctly and in a timely manner.

• You do NOT need to submit paper photographs and you do not need to self-schedule an appointment at an Application Support Center to capture your biometrics. You will receive a notice in the U.S. mail from USCIS that will provide you with your USCIS-scheduled appointment for capturing biometrics and photographs at your local Application Support Center.

• Be sure to bring all required initial evidence and supporting documentation at the time of your biometrics appointment to your local Application Support Center.
