School employee found guilty of fraud

The U.S. Attorney’s office reported the conviction of a school employee in Michigan who was found guilty following a three-day jury trial on two counts of unlawfully converting to his own use property belonging to the River Rouge School District and one count of conspiring to convert property.

Factory owner convicted in forced labor case

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Justice Department today announced the sentencing of the ringleader in the Department’s largest ever human trafficking prosecution. Kil Soo Lee, the former owner of an American Samoa garment factory was sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role in holding over 200 victims in forced servitude.

Consultant firms ordered to stop sharing information

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Department of Justice has reached a settlement that will require Professional Consultants Insurance Company Inc. (PCIC), and its actuarial consulting firm members, to stop sharing among themselves and with other actuarial consulting firms certain information on the use of contractual limitations of liability (LOL) in their dealings with clients.

Sleeping man arrested on 18th DWI charge

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A man arrested after a traffic stop fell asleep before an officer arrived to administer a field sobriety test. But authorities say James Lovato, 50, last week’s incident was his 18th arrest on a charge of drunken driving.
